Katz joined the firm in 2011, and focuses his practice on corporate and business law, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, and renewable and beneficial reuse development and finance. He previously was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of United Lex Corporation, a global leader in technology-powered legal and business solutions, and Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Republic Services, Inc., a national leader in waste and recycling services.
Katz has chaired the Development Campaign of the United Way of Broward County, and is a member of its Board of Ambassadors. He also is former member of the board of directors of the Association of Corporate Counsel South Florida.
A graduate of the University of Florida, he received a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami in 1995 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1996.
The Humane Society of Broward County provides shelter, aid and responsible adoptions for animals entrusted to its care, and educates the community about respect and kindness to all animals.
The United Way of Broward Tocqueville Society was established to deepen the understanding, commitment and support of United Way’s most generous and community-minded investors. In the spirit of the great philosopher, Alexis de Tocqueville, and his admiration of volunteerism in America, United Way of America founded the Tocqueville Society in 1984.
