The law firm of Katz, Barron, Squitero, Faust, Friedberg, English & Allen, P.A., has announced that Matthew D. Katz will serve as managing member of its Broward County office, located at 100 Northeast Third Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.
Katz joined the firm in 2011, and focuses his practice on corporate and business law, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, and renewable and beneficial reuse development and finance. He previously was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of United Lex Corporation, a global leader in technology-powered legal and business solutions, and Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Republic Services, Inc., a national leader in waste and recycling services.
Katz currently chairs the Development Campaign of the United Way of Broward County, and is a member of its Board of Ambassadors. He also is former member of the board of directors of the Association of Corporate Counsel South Florida.
A graduate of the University of Florida, he received a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami in 1995 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1996.
